Nursery (or Pre-Nursery):
Children are usually admitted to nursery around the age of 2 to 3 years old. Some nurseries may admit children as young as 1.5 years old, depending on their developmental readiness and the policies of the institution.
Senior Kg:
Kindergarten or KG classes are often divided into Lower KG (LKG) and Upper KG (UKG). Children generally enter LKG around the age of 3 to 4 years old, and progress to UKG around the age of 4 to 5 years old.
Primary Section
Primary section of a school generally start from when children complete their pre-primary education (such as nursery and kindergarten) and enter formal schooling.
Grade 1:Children usually enter Grade 1 around the age of 5 to 7 years old. In some educational systems, the minimum age requirement for Grade 1 can be around 5 years, while in others, it may be closer to 6 or 7 years.
Subsequent Grades (Grade 2 to Grade 5 or 6): The age range for these grades varies depending on when children start formal schooling and how the primary education system is structured in a particular country or region. Generally, children progress through these grades until they reach the age of around 10 to 12 years old.
The age criteria for the secondary section of a school typically cover Grades 6 to 12 or equivalent, depending on the educational system.
Grade 6: Children generally enter Grade 6 around the age of 10 to 12 years old.
Grade 7 to Grade 12: Subsequent grades cover the ages from approximately 11 to 18 years old, depending on when children started formal schooling and the structure of the secondary education system in their country.
Grade 7: Around 11 to 13 years old.
Grade 8: Around 12 to 14 years old.
Grade 9: Around 13 to 15 years old.
Grade 10: Around 14 to 16 years old.
